Roth Schuster is a particularly veteran employee of McDonald's - she has been coming to the hamburger chain's branch in her hometown of Irvine, Pennsylvania, for 27 years.
The long duration of her work is impressive, but it is especially surprising when it is discovered that last week she celebrated her 100th birthday.
"I'm not going to retire. I love my job, meeting people," said Schuster, who began working at the place when she was 73. Since then, she has been wiping tables and greeting customers entering the branch.
Even before she celebrated her 100th birthday, Schuster said that in her eyes it was just a number: "I have always worked, I love to work. I never had a lot of money but I always had enough."
She also said she has not stopped working since she was widowed by her husband, who died 50 years ago.
She celebrated her round birthday not only with her family and friends, but also with her co-workers - who took care to surprise her with a doll in her image, which they placed in the branch.
McDonald's executives also made sure to join the celebration, recording warm wishes for her that were conveyed to her in a video.
The manager of the branch where Roth works also complimented her, saying that before the outbreak of the corona plague, customers stood in line especially for the veteran employee to provide them with service.
Today she helps wherever possible: "Roth is a very special lady. If you did not know her, she will make you feel like you have known her all your life."
