Survived by a miracle:

Four residents of Moshav "Retamim" in the south were driving last night (Tuesday) on Road 40 in the direction of Be'er Sheva, when a rock suddenly hit their vehicle in the Neot Hovav industrial area.

The rock, fortunately, hit the vehicle's trash but was a few inches from hitting the vehicle's windshield, which would have injured the occupants.

Rotem Deri, who was sitting in the seat next to the driver, told "Israel Today": "We were driving on Route 40 in the direction of Be'er Sheva, just before Neot Hovav we suddenly heard a very loud boom. I was sure we got on something or a wheel exploded. We continued driving, and it took us a few seconds "Understand that a stone hit us and it was right above my head. The windshield shattered."

Deri added: "It's very lucky that the stone hit the tin directly and not the windshield, otherwise it would have hit my head. We called the police straight away and reported. Border police volunteers found the stone pretty quickly and now I am slowly digesting, at that moment you do not know what Think about it and how to respond.

This is something that has not happened in the Negev for years, we did not think it was something that could happen.

We know camel stories and such.

Fewer stones.

We are of course filing a complaint with the police. "

The head of the Ramat Negev council told "Israel Today": This is a serious incident, which for me could have ended in the deaths of the passengers.

I expect the Israel Police to bring the perpetrators to justice and for the courts to impose a punishment that will deter such offenders.

"There is a difference between breaking into a house and throwing a stone at a car traveling at 90 km / h. This is a real attack, it is killing people ... this is a risk to human life at the highest level. Today it is a stone.

He added: "We need to restore the security of the residents of the Negev. There can be no situation where people do not want to travel at night on the road. It does not make sense. Even if it means there should be more presence on this road, and in places where there are population concentrations. And make sure it is so powerful That it created deterrence over time and that is where we will be measured in a year and in two years and not in a week. "
