Various handicrafts from embroideries, textiles, carving on wood, accessories and local food products were presented by a number of women as part of the exhibition organized by the Youth Center at the European Institute in As-Suwayda in cooperation with the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development and the “Al-Ghusan Al-Ateeq” team.

The exhibition hosted by the Saint George's Greek Orthodox Church Hall in the city of Sweida on the occasion of International Women's Day, during which about 22 women presented, over three days, works that reflect their manual skills and aspects of artistic creativity.

According to Kinan Khaddaj, coordinator of the Youth Center at the European Institute in Sweden, the exhibition comes within the framework of supporting women's home entrepreneurship projects and providing them with an opportunity to introduce their products to the local community.

According to the Director of the Sweida District of the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development, Raghda Al-Ashhab, the exhibition comes to reinforce the state of participation in work and exchange of experiences, indicating that a number of women who participated in it had previously undergone vocational training courses in the department and continued to attend through work and production.

Raghad Hassan Kerbaj, one of the participants in the exhibition, indicated that she presented a different type of artistic pieces characterized by the introduction of more than one material in addition to painting, stressing the importance of such exhibitions to show the excellence of work for women.

While Salma Jarira, participating in sweets products and natural herbs, considered that the exhibition is in line with the ambition of any woman who works to prove herself through work that helps her to achieve material income to face the burdens and difficulties of life.
