China today called on the United States to lift unjustified restrictions and end repression against Chinese companies, as well as work with China to focus on cooperation and managing disputes.
"This report is the latest testimony to the mutually beneficial and win-win nature of economic and trade relations between China and the United States," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Li Jian was quoted by the Chinese News Agency as saying in response to a report issued by the American Chamber of Commerce.
The spokesman stressed that China will continue to deepen reform, expand openness, and work for a market-based business environment governed by law that lives up to international standards in order to provide convenience for companies from all over the world, including American companies, to invest in China.
He expressed the hope that the US side would also adhere to an open and comprehensive stance to seek win-win results, lift its unjustified restrictions, stop restricting Chinese companies, and work with China to focus on cooperation and manage disputes in order to create favorable conditions for the healthy development of economic and trade relations between China and the United States.
The American Chamber of Commerce in China released the report of the Chinese business climate survey for 2021 earlier in the day, saying, "Foreign companies in China are optimistic about China's economic prospects, considering China a priority investment destination."
