A huge wave of Corona virus is plaguing Central Europe these days and the Czech authorities announced today (Wednesday) the transfer of patients from the country's corona wards for medical treatment in Poland, after the country's health system is in danger of collapsing.
In Hungary, the number of patients reached a new high after data surpassed those of the previous wave of morbidity in the country, which occurred in December.
Schools, shops and restaurants remained closed today, due to government restrictions.
In recent days, Poland has also recorded a dramatic increase in the number of patients in Corona, and in the past day, 17,260 new infections have been diagnosed in the country.
A local health ministry official has complained about the public's "loose treatment" of corona restrictions.
In the last few weeks, the Czech Republic has become one of the worst corona hotspots on the continent and the mortality rate in the country, one in every 500 inhabitants, is the highest in the world in relation to the population.
A senior immunologist at the Czech Ministry of Health estimated that at least 45 percent of the population had already contracted the virus.
