(CNN Spanish) -
Jessica Johanna Oseguera González, daughter of the leader of the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho", will plead guilty in the United States.
The black woman, as she is known, faces five charges for supporting illicit drug trafficking activities through transactions with entities vetoed by the United States government.
The prosecution and attorneys for Jessica Johanna Oseguera asked in a joint filing before the Federal Court of Washington to annul the start date of the trial, scheduled for March 22, and instead set a hearing to plead guilty.
The attorneys' request does not explain the reasons for the change in statement, or whether he will plead guilty to the five charges he faces.
Rubén Oseguera González, his brother, was extradited by Mexico to the United States in February 2020 on one count of conspiracy to import and distribute cocaine and methamphetamine and another of using firearms for that purpose.
The Oseguera González brothers have dual Mexican-American citizenship.
