The day after the announcement of the circumstances of the death of the 14-year-old student in Argenteuil, Christine Cadart, director of the private high school Cognacq-

Cameras are still crowding this Wednesday in front of the Cognacq-Jay high school in Argenteuil (Val-d'Oise) the day after the announcement of the tragedy that hit this private secular establishment under contract and free.

Its director, since 2009, Christine Cadart, whose emotion is palpable, agreed to receive Le Parisien to discuss the events of recent days and the death of Alisha.

The 14-year-old girl, a third-grade student in this high school since September, was found drowned in the Seine on Monday evening.

Two students in her pre-trade class are suspected of having harassed and then hit her before pushing her into the water.

How are you ?

How are your teams, your students?

CHRISTINE CADART.

The best it can go in this type of dramatic circumstance.

Our thoughts are obviously with the family of Alisha whom we had met on several occasions.

But it affects us all, adults and young people.

All the more so as we are a small structure of 520 students with two classes of prepa-profession colleges and then vocational courses from CAP to bac pro.

About fifty teachers and fifteen administrative staff in total.

Since yesterday, we have had the support of the academic services with a listening unit available for all students and staff.

This is necessary so that everyone can express their emotion individually and collectively.

And this morning, there was also a speech in the class in which these three students were educated because yesterday, all had been invited to join their home after an individual call to all parents.

What did the establishment know about the quarrel that would have led to this tragedy?

Do you confirm that a disciplinary council was scheduled this Tuesday evening for the two alleged perpetrators?

That's right.

The facts started on February 5 with the hacking of a Snapchat account then the distribution of compromising photos of the young Alisha on the group of her class.

The author of the hacking, the young man, was placed in a precautionary measure with a ban on attending the establishment and was due to go to a disciplinary council on March 2.

The holidays then followed but on the first day of school a fight broke out between Alisha and the young woman because the latter would have continued to broadcast photos of the first.

She too had been placed in a precautionary measure with a view to a disciplinary council.

The two cases being linked, we then made the decision to postpone the disciplinary council of the young man to Tuesday 9 to make it correspond to that of the young girl.

One was scheduled for 4 p.m. and the other for 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

How did you hear about the dissemination of these photos?

We were alerted by a young girl from this class.

She and young Alisha were then received by the deputy director and the facts were confirmed.

Alisha's family was also immediately received.

We informed them of the disciplinary action that would ensue for the young man and the young woman and advised them to go to the police to file a complaint.

Relatives of the victim report a real harassment of the two accused on the young Alisha ...

We hadn't heard from any other incident and hoped it had calmed down.

There was nothing to let us think that things could get so bad.

We believe we have done everything in our power.

The families had been alerted, the registered letters had left.

Alisha was very supported by the teaching team with which she was very close because we know that this type of diffusion affects.

If there was anything else, we were not informed.

Alisha is portrayed by her family and friends as a good, straightforward student.

What is it?

She had joined our establishment in September and we indeed have the image of a very serious and very diligent student.

Were the two students currently in custody known for previous acts of violence?

They too had arrived in September.

The only profile of his two students was to be dropouts.

Our school life pole was trying to do important work to reinvest them in schooling.

They were not very present, even if we saw them in spite of everything, but had never until then committed acts of violence.

In our establishment, there is a great closeness between students and teachers and in these preparatory classes, a real challenge to make them regain self-confidence, to work on self-esteem and on an essential professional project carried out with teachers who choose to teach these young people.

Many want to stay with us afterwards.

We speak of the “Cognacq-Jay effect”.

A family establishment and "without confusion" as the students say, even if it is obviously not all rosy and where disciplinary advice is rare.

Only one last year, two this year until those scheduled for Tuesday and they did not concern acts of violence.

We also have a listening cell run by a psychologist from the Argenteuil medical-psycho-pedagogical center (CMPP) every Friday.

Doesn't the danger also lie in social networks?

It is a real scourge.

And a subject that we tackle as soon as our students arrive.

With a great awareness on the part of our main educational advisers (CPE) on respect for others, image rights but also with the intervention of external associations.

We also carry out information work with families.

Unfortunately, we still feel helpless in the face of that.

With phenomena day and night that do not stop.

However, this has always been our fight, like other themes, and it will obviously continue.

How do you do after such a drama?

The goal is to resume a normal life because it is necessary.

Classes were maintained for the other students and those of the third B, in which the three students were educated, will resume this Thursday with obviously always the possibility of going to the listening cell when they wish.

For the rest, the investigation is underway and I let the police do their job.

But what is certain is that it is terrible and that we are in total incomprehension.
