Faced with the deterioration of the situation, additional restrictive measures "cannot be excluded", noted the president of the region.

The health outlook in Île-de-France is poor, according to the boss of the regional executive.

On BFM Business, Valérie Pécresse was "very concerned about the evolution of the health situation in the region".

"

The epidemic is skyrocketing in the region, hospitals are being energized,

" she said.

Additional restrictive measures "

cannot be ruled out

" at the present time: "

nothing should be ruled out at this stage, the subject today is not to be overwhelmed by a third wave

", warned the representative.

An analysis shared by the national executive, which ensures accelerating vaccination to cope with the rise of the epidemic.

"

I want these promises to be tangible and translate into action,

" said the leader of the region.

Valérie Pécresse launched an appeal to Ile-de-France residents, who must "

redouble their vigilance

" and put themselves into teleworking as much as possible.

The State, for its part, must "

massively destock its vaccines,

" she said, calling for the acceleration of the pace of vaccination this weekend to be sustainable.

Tuesday, the Director General of Health, Jérôme Salomon, declared for his part that "

the confinement of Ile-de-France is not relevant

".

The health situation in the region is increasingly worrying, particularly in terms of occupancy of beds in intensive care units.

"

We are in very strong tension, we are freeing beds (...) and we are monitoring the situation day after day

", added Jérôme Salomon.

14 billion euros for the region

To face the economic consequences of the health crisis, the region will set in motion a recovery plan of 14 billion euros, which will benefit "

all growth sectors

", such as digital, transport, housing or construction. .

The region has also extended its “

resilience fund

”, dedicated to VSEs and SMEs: “

Bruno Le Maire has authorized me, by exemption, to continue it until March 17, the last deadline for deposits

”, he added. she clarified.

All small businesses requiring quasi-equity assistance in the region can therefore apply for it.

Employment will also be supported: "

it is necessary to convert hundreds of thousands of Ile-de-France residents, in sectors that have stopped,

" such as tourism, which has been very hard hit by the crisis, noted the former minister.

This last area can also be revived thanks to the introduction of a “health passport”, to which Valérie Pécresse is favorable for non-Europeans.

"

This would avoid a disastrous tourist season, from which our hotels would not recover

," she pleaded.

Opposite, the French could, for their part, have a "

health book, with vaccines and tests

", to present for example at the entrance of a museum or a cultural place.

In the longer term, the crisis could modify certain sectors, including housing: the Île-de-France “

has a lot of

industrial

wasteland

” to convert into homes, noted Valérie Pécresse.

At the same time, "

we must take over all [...] the empty and dilapidated office premises, and we will have a lot of them, because teleworking will change our habits,

" she added.

Areas of activity could therefore be transformed into residential areas in the near future.
