Several vehicle fires were again identified Tuesday evening in Lyon and in the neighboring town of Feyzin (Rhône), four days after a series of disturbances in the metropolis, we learn from concordant sources.

The Rhône prefecture told AFP that police forces and firefighters had been sent to the 8th arrondissement of Lyon and to Feyzin following reports of fires starting around 6:00 p.m.

Police and firefighters are on call at both sites
», Said the prefecture, which did not note any clashes between the perpetrators of these fires and the police.
At around 7:00 p.m., an AFP journalist observed that calm had been restored in the sensitive district of Mermoz, in the 8th arrondissement east of Lyon, which was crisscrossed by the police while a few piles of debris still steaming obstructed traffic.
Several tubes of mortars littered the ground, we also note.
In Feyzin, in the southern suburbs, the municipal police were alerted, also around 6:00 p.m., of car fires in the Geraniums and Moors neighborhoods, the mayor, Murielle Laurent (PS) told AFP.

Six vehicles were set on fire,
" according to the elected official who said that the municipal and national police and firefighters were on site.

Things are back to normal, the firefighters are doing the job,
" she adds, Ms. Laurent specifies that "
no regrouping, outpouring or gathering
" has been observed.
For its part, the prefecture reported the arrest of a suspect in Feyzin.
The metropolis of Lyon experienced last week an outbreak of urban violence that left the sensitive district of La Duchère on Thursday after the scooter accident of a 13-year-old teenager, now in a coma.
Aftershocks occurred the following two evenings in the neighboring towns of Rillieux-la-Pape and Bron.
The Lyon public prosecutor's office announced on Wednesday the opening of a judicial investigation into the La Duchère accident, in the face of contradictory versions of the facts given by young people from the neighborhood, who accuse the police of being involved in the incident, and this one which formally denies.
