The Turkish newspaper Zaman revealed that more than five thousand suicide attempts and six thousand kidnapping attempts had occurred in Turkey during the past year, in addition to an increase in weapons licensing requests by 34 percent.
The newspaper stated that statistics issued by the report of the General Administration of Gendarmerie Forces of the Ministry of Interior of the Turkish regime published for the first time showed that there were 1,023 suicides this year for citizens, 5,593 suicide attempts during the past year, and 3,166 suspicious deaths witnessed by the area under the behavior of the gendarmerie, in addition to the disappearance of 6,382 people .
The report added that the Ministry received 17,751 licensing applications for a single weapon in 2020, an increase of about 34 percent compared to 2019, when the number was 13,206 applications for a weapon license.
The environmental crime section of the report indicated an increase of 816 percent in environmental crime in 2020 compared to the previous year.
During the year 2019, 19,61 environmental crimes occurred, while this number increased during the past 2020 to 174,646 environmental crimes. During the same year, the area under the disposal of the gendarmerie witnessed 389 fires in the forest area, while in 2020 this percentage decreased by 26 percent to 286 fires. .
