If the cell phone reception does not work, they are, so to speak, cut off from the outside world in terms of communication technology.

On Tuesday, the Tölzer Kurier asked the press office of the Telefónica group, which has O2 as the main brand in Germany, about the cause of the malfunction.

A spokesman replied on Wednesday morning, “that this week renovation work is being carried out on a radio mast in Bad Tölz as part of technical modernization.

However, since this radio mast also supplies other mobile radio locations via directional radio, this could "unfortunately also temporarily lead to impairments in Lenggries, Gaißach and Reichersbeuern these days".

The Telefónica spokesman continued: "We very much regret the impairments, but ask for your understanding for the modernization measures, which will ultimately lead to an improved supply."
