The National Film Organization launched the special screening of the feature film “Dark Clouds” directed by Ayman Zidan, in the Kennedy Damar Cinema Hall.

The events of the film, written by Zidan in partnership with Yasmine Abu Fakhr, begin with Dr. Ahmed's return to his village, which was destroyed by war after a long absence, to end his last days in it after discovering that he had cancer.

The director of the film, the artist Zidan, said in a statement to Sana: “In war cinema, I always tend to enter from a hallway far from the sound of battles to explore the depths of those whose souls the war has cast a heavy shadow on,” indicating that he sought to present the lives of a group of people surrounded by a rundown world and looking for Solutions and formulas to go out to wider and brighter horizons, wishing that these dark clouds carry within them showers of hope and optimism for a better future.

General Director of the General Film Organization, Murad Shaheen, pointed out that this is the second experience of the artist Ayman Zaidan with the institution as director, and that the specialization of the film comes in the way it addresses the humanitarian issue that it deals with about the repercussions of the war on society, which is a sensitive aspect, indicating that the institution in the recent period has taken the direction of documenting the war On Syria from several aspects, including the military, humanitarian and social.

In turn, artist Ramez Atallah pointed out that the war that Syria went through has produced a lot of active books because of its dramatic material for the seventh art, which was reflected in the increase in the production of the cinema institution, especially youth films, considering that cooperation with director Ayman Zaidan has a special flavor as an exceptional artist with interest and passion. With his wide knowledge and high culture.

Artist Hazem Zidan explained that the film is cruel in all respects, whether in its content or during its execution, and he said: It is a special, tiring and emotional experience and it is close to my heart, especially since I cooperated artistically with my father in achieving it along with the performance of the character of Zuhair.

Actress Lama Bodour, who embodied the character of Souad, pointed out that this character is overwhelmed by her command and likens many women in our societies waiting for a better tomorrow, describing the film as a beautiful and tiring experience.

Regarding Syrian cinema in times of war, artist Suzan Najmuddin said that there are films that are respectful and serious and beautiful attempts, and most importantly, cinema workers present their productions in difficult and harsh conditions.

The film was co-starred by Wael Ramadan, Lina Hawarneh and Nour Ali, with the participation of Muhammad Haddaki and the film's guest, Joud Saeed and the child David Mahad Al-Ra'i, and represented by Alaa Qassem, Mazen Abbas, Muhammad Zarzour and Ghaleb Zaidan.
