Vaccination rate in the US increases markedly

2021-03-10T23:28:47.182Z

Herd immunity is a long way off in the United States, despite the fact that more than two million people are vaccinated every day. Why?

Dr. Elmer Huerta is concerned about these two scenarios for people who have already been vaccinated: "We do not know how long the coverage of the vaccine will last and we do not know if we will be able to become infected with any variant." The United States today released the vaccination figures. As of Tuesday, March 9, 123,232,775 doses had been distributed in the country and 93,692,598 have already been administered, according to the CDC. On average, the United States vaccinates 2,151,571 people per day. With these data, people may feel that they are already experiencing a post-pandemic beginning, but Dr. Huerta recalls that only 10% of the country's population has been vaccinated and three-quarters of fully vaccinated residents are needed to achieve immunity.
