The City of Lyon had announced it in September: the budget which will be voted on next March 25 will be "
gendered
".
That is to say accompanied by an indicator assessing the impact in terms of gender equality for each measure financed by the municipality.
According to Le Parisien, a specialized firm will be specifically mandated to support elected officials in the construction of this new instrument, which requires scrutinizing the approximately 850 million euros of annual budget.
The opposition denounces for its part an
unnecessary or even dangerous
"
obsession
", fearing in particular a drop in subsidies for associations or sports centers shunned by women.
