Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the foreign ministers of the two regimes, Mevlüt Çavuşolu and Qatari Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, affirmed their commitment to preserving Syria's sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and integrity in accordance with the United Nations Charter.

The three ministers expressed, in a joint statement today from Doha published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, their conviction that there is no military solution to the crisis in Syria and their commitment to pushing the political process facilitated by the United Nations to reach a political solution in accordance with United Nations Resolution 2254 and the 2012 Geneva Statement, expressing “ The determination to fight terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and to stand in the way of separatist agendas that undermine the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria as well as the national security of neighboring countries.

In their statement, the ministers also expressed their support for the committee to discuss the constitution without any external interference in its work or the work of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria, Geir Pedersen.

The ministers expressed "deep concern regarding the humanitarian situation in Syria and the impact of the (Covid 19) pandemic and the great challenge it poses on the health system in the country and on the social, economic and humanitarian conditions." The priority is to vaccinate against the disease in Syria and to increase humanitarian aid for all Syrians without discrimination or politicization, in a way that contributes to improving the humanitarian situation.

The statement stressed the need to facilitate the voluntary and safe return of refugees and displaced persons, and in this context the ministers expressed “readiness to continue interaction with all concerned parties, including the United Nations, the High Commissioner for Refugees and other specialized international agencies.
