Contribution increase in two steps

The lunch care in Gauting should become more expensive in steps. From autumn 2021 onwards, an increase of around ten percent is planned in a first stage, followed by a second in 2022. The municipal council will make a final decision next week on the new parental contributions.

The lunch care in Gauting should become more expensive in steps.

From autumn 2021 onwards, an increase of around ten percent is planned in a first stage, followed by a second in 2022. The municipal council will make a final decision next week on the new parental contributions.

Gauting

- Families are also feeling the need to save ten percent in Gauting: After a controversial debate, the main and finance committee of the municipal council decided on Tuesday evening that the parent contributions for lunchtime care for elementary school children in Gauting and Stockdorf, which had remained unchanged for five years, should be increased from the coming school year - also by ten percent.

Five days a week with childcare until 4 p.m. will then cost 132 euros a month instead of the previous 120 euros.

A further increase is to follow in the school year 2022/23.

The decision was made by roll call with a majority of 8: 5 votes.

The Greens, Eberhard Brucker (SPD) and Stephanie Pahl (MiFü 82131) voted no.

Mayor Dr.

Brigitte Kössinger recalled the five-year contribution stability and the current budget consultations with generally ten percent savings in voluntary benefits.

The administration had also drawn up a comparison list with the fee rates of other municipalities, according to which Gauting was roughly on a par with the neighboring municipality of Neuried for full care with the new values.

In return, “we enable both parents to work until 4 p.m. with lunchtime care” in the high-priced Gauting, emphasized Stephan Ebner (CSU), who is himself the father of a young daughter.

Ebner even suggested a monthly fee of 140 euros.

Families who are short of money, “we have to actively point out that we are supporting them through our social foundation”.

"Not an immediate hit in the office", added Michael Vilgertshofer (CSU) and suggested a "two-step plan".

Increase to a maximum of 132 euros this year and 140 euros next year.

"Compared to other communities, we have a good price-performance ratio," said Dr.

Michaela Reissfelder-Zessin (Greens) and thought a ten percent increase to a maximum of 132 euros was feasible.

Eberhard Brucker opposed this, and quoted the psychologist and couples therapist Wolfgang Schmidbauer, according to which the lockdown had "increased the child welfare risk by 20 to 30 percent".

The community should not increase the pressure on families even further.

"We also provide the real estate and pay the annual increase in personnel costs," said Michael Vilgertshofer.

"It pains me that the federal government is relieving the burden of family policy at the municipal level," said Jens Rindermann (Greens), regretting the pressure to save.

But “without long pieces of paper” the Haerlinsche Sozialstiftung should support parents who are in need at a low-threshold level.

The foundation is already helping unbureaucratically, financing children's lunches or school supplies, assured Kössinger.

The municipal council will have the final say next Tuesday.
