The custody of the artist Doc Gyneco, arrested Wednesday on suspicion of
"voluntary violence by spouse"
, has been extended for twenty-four hours, we learned Thursday evening from the Paris prosecutor's office.

This measure, ordered as part of an investigation entrusted to the police station of the 18th arrondissement of the capital, can last until Friday before a decision of the prosecution on possible legal proceedings.
According to
Le Parisien
, confirmed by a source familiar with the matter, the police intervened late Wednesday afternoon at the couple's home, after an argument during which the singer slapped his wife on several occasions.
The latter had been taken to hospital.
"Doc Gyneco has recognized the facts and does not try to minimize them,"
his lawyer, Me Jonathan Khalifa, told AFP on Thursday.
"His vocation is to speak before the courts of his country and not to be condemned in the media,"
he added.
Bruno Beausire alias Doc Gyneco, 46, is the author of "Première consultation", a first solo album released in April 1996 and sold over a million copies, with titles like "Born here", "Viens see the doctor "or" Vanessa ", between rap and reggae.
