Paris-SANA called on dozens of French women to lift unilateral and coercive Western economic measures

Paris-Sana

Dozens of French women called for the complete lifting of the unilateral Western coercive economic measures imposed on Syria, expressing their solidarity with the Syrian people in facing the effects of these measures.

In a statement to them on the occasion of International Women's Rights Day published in the French newspaper Rifi Cominest, 137 French women confirmed that the Western coercive measures led to an increase in the suffering of the Syrian people, especially in the areas of electricity, heating and health care.

The French women indicated that the foreign occupation forces in Syria burned crops and stole and plundered the resources of the Syrian people, while in 2011 Syria was self-sufficient for all its basic needs, including medicine, energy and food, indicating that the humanitarian situation in Syria is a cause for concern.

At the end of last year, the United Nations Special Rapporteur in Geneva, Elena Dohan, called for the lifting of the unilateral American sanctions imposed on Syria, stressing that they are a violation of human rights, especially with the spread of the Corona pandemic.
