Today they are among the most famous personalities in Germany, but at a young age many celebrities learned a completely normal profession.

Today they are among the most famous personalities in Germany, but at a young age many celebrities learned a completely normal profession.

Munich - Stars almost always cut a fine figure on the red carpet, at film premieres and public appearances.

As if they had done nothing else in their entire life.

But the impression is deceptive.

In an overview we present the previous jobs of the stars:

Sila Sahin

+

Sila Sahin is likely to have caught the eye of a wide audience for the first time during “Good times, bad times”.

From 2009 to 2014 she played the role of Ayla Höfer on the successful RTL soap.

Even after that she worked as an actress, but also appeared increasingly in entertainment shows.

In 2013, for example, she came second in “Let's Dance”.

Acting already played a major role in Sila Sahin's school days.

She played her first roles in a theater company.

At that time she was already modeling every now and then.

Despite her training as a beautician, she just couldn't let go of acting.

Parallel to her apprenticeship years, she attended the drama school in Berlin-Charlottenburg.

Not a bad idea, as it turned out later.

Klaas Heufer-Umlauf

+

They go together like chips and ketchup.

Joko Winterscheidt and Klaas Heufer-Umlauf.

For years the two have been “fooling” each other through TV - first with MTV, then with ZDF neo and, more recently, with ProSieben.

With “Joko & Klaas versus ProSieben” and “Duel um die Welt” they delight an audience of millions.

But it also works without Joko: Since 2018, Klaas has been running his own late night show, with his two colleagues Jakob Lundt and Thomas Schmitt he runs the podcast “Baywatch Berlin”.

Klaas Heufer-Umlauf has had an exciting career.

Because before he turned to television, he wanted to become a hairdresser.

Yes, you read that right: hairdresser.

He even learned the trade, but then worked as a stylist and make-up artist in Weimar.

He then started his TV career at the youth and music channel VIVA.

Verona Pooth

+

Verona Pooth is often underestimated, but is a capable business woman.

From RTL's own late-night talk show "Veronas Welt" to the female lead in the movie "At World's End - The Truth About Men" - it is now part of the inventory on TV.

But Pooth - born Feldbusch - is also active as an entrepreneur.

She runs a boutique with a friend in Hamburg, she has designed lingerie and jewelry and is of course a well-known advertising face.

Verona Pooth was discovered as a model at the age of 15.

She was approached by a fashion photographer and then started her modeling career.

After completing secondary school, however, she first devoted herself to an apprenticeship as a tailor.

The native Bolivian broke this off, however, in order to focus more on beauty contests and her singing career with the band "Chocolate".

Marteria

+

"Purple clouds", "OMG!" Or "Kids (2 fingers on the head)" - these are just a small selection of Marteria's hits.

The rapper is one of the most famous musicians in Germany.

Already at the age of 16 he devoted himself fully to music, but he could have taken other paths ...

It could well have been that we could not have seen Marteria on stage, but in the big football stadiums of the world.

Born in Rostock, he played as a right-back in the youth of his home club - and he did it really well.

He was the captain of all of Hansa Rostock's youth teams and even played in the youth national team from U15 to U17.

He was discovered by a model scout on a trip to New York in 1999, and later he worked with top model Claudia Schiffer on a photo shoot.

This ended my football career very quickly, but modeling was not a long-term one either.

It should be the music in the end.

Daniela Katzenberger

It was so long ago, but Daniela Katzenberger should still be known to most of the people from the VOX program "Auf und vom - Mein International Diary".

At that time she tried in vain to meet Playboy founder Hugh Hefner.

This marked her way into the docu-soap area.

With “Goodby Germany!

The emigrants ”she was followed by cameras as she opened her own cafe in Mallorca.

Meanwhile, the advertising face for numerous products has also gone to the authors.

With “The Cat Boils!” She brought a cookbook onto the market.

The rest is history ...

Rapper Sido was known for his mask that hid his face.

With a (panda) mask appears on rapper colleague Cro.

The difference: To this day, he has not given up his veils.

In 2012 he released his single "Easy" and won triple gold.

With “Once Around the World” or “Infinity”, other hits followed, which were really well received by the audience.

Years ago, Cro decided to train as a media designer and completed it.

He then worked as a cartoonist for a newspaper.

Even if he is currently mainly active as a musician, designing does not let go of him completely.

He designs clothes for his fashion label and also produces his music videos himself.

Lena Meyer-Landrut

It all started with the Eurovision Song Contest 2010.

After her surprise success in Oslo, Lena Meyer-Landrut really took off and became “Everybody's Darling”.

Of course, she has remained loyal to music today and has now released five studio albums.

Up to the eighth season - with two exceptions - Lena was also on the jury of the ProSieben show "The Voice Kids".

2010 was not only the year of her ESC triumph, in the same year Lena Meyer-Landrut also graduated from high school.

Born in Hanover, she then enrolled at the University of Cologne.

However, she broke off her studies in “Languages and Cultures of Africa” and “Philosophy” - her full focus was on the recording of her third album.

Not a bad decision.

“99 Luftballons” and Nena are inextricably linked - even abroad.

The musician has sold 25 million records worldwide, making her one of the most successful artists in German music history.

Ruth Moschner

+

Ruth Moschner, as the rate queen for “The Masked Singer”, causes controversy again and again.

Some love them for their thick phone book, others just find them annoying.

As is so often the case, the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Ruth is actually an absolute TV guest: “Big Brother”, “Friday Night News”, “Genial besides - The Quiz” or “Riverboat”, to name just a few shows with her.

It is fair to say that she is an absolute TV professional.

Ruth Moschner: Internship as a start in the media industry

+

Ruth Moschner already had smaller acting roles in the theater as a child, so the path to show business was mapped out.

All the more surprising: Ruth also learned something “right”.

She began an apprenticeship as a bank clerk, but broke it off to do an internship at the radio station "Energy Munich".

So then something with the media ...

Pyrotechnics in particular play a very special role.

Things were quieter with young Till Lindemann.

Oliver Pocher * appeared on TV for the first time in October 1998.

In Bärbel Schäfer's afternoon talk show, he tried to make the audience laugh.

It failed miserably and was whistled.

But that shouldn't stop them.

Via VIVA he made it to ProSieben, where he was able to show himself to a larger audience for the first time with “Rent a Pocher”.

Later he was Harald Schmidt's sidekick, currently he has his own show on RTL - together with his wife Amira.

It's hard to believe, but Oliver Pocher didn't always do comedy.

The son of a financial accountant and an insurance clerk started his professional career as an insurance and financial clerk.

How appropriate.

But he has always had the urge to do something different: Even during his training, he worked for various radio stations and also as a DJ.

World champions 1990, European champions 1996, two UEFA Cup winners, one German championship: Jürgen Klinsmann's track record as an active footballer does not read badly.

Not to forget: At the 2006 home World Cup, he led the DFB selection as a coach in third place.

A real summer fairy tale.
