The Ministry of Health is discussing the outline of the restrictions that will apply on Passover in about two weeks, against the background of morbidity and mortality indices, which are gradually improving in light of the vaccination campaign.

Among other things, senior officials at the ministry are considering the possibility of increasing the number of people allowed for gatherings and gatherings as part of holiday meals and prayers, as well as discussing attractions that could be opened during the holidays.

The ministry is examining the various options and debating how limited the public can be, most of whom are vaccinated and entitled to relief, along with fears that too large crowds will lead to further infection and an increase in the serious illness, which still does not fall below 600 patients.

The head of the public health services, Dr. Sharon Elrai-Price, said this week at a press briefing that if the morbidity situation continues to decline or remain balanced as it is now, there will be no need for restrictions at all on the holiday. Elrai-Price stated. The corona commissioner, Professor Nachman Ash, also changed direction and estimated that there would be no further closure before Pesach, given the continuation of the existing data.

According to the outline, there will probably be no traffic restrictions on the holiday, i.e. a closure or night curfew.

The main points of the outline will deal with restrictions in synagogues and holiday meals, as well as restrictions in preparation for the holiday week, which is expected to take thousands of hikers to nature reserves and various attractions.

The final outline will be formulated next week and then submitted to a government vote.

Today the allowed gathering is up to 20 people in a closed building and up to 50 people in an open space.

The ministry is considering reducing the number of people to up to ten people indoors and up to 20 people in the open, in order to reduce holiday meals, which can be a great danger since children have not yet been vaccinated.

However, the ministry understands that the public is tired of the restrictions and becomes less disciplined, so senior officials believe that the restrictions should be left as they are, and even slightly increase the number of people in a closed space to allow families to reunite on Seder night.

However, the possibility of waiting with the relief of the fourth beat until after the end of the week is also examined.
