The Peruvian Ministry of Health received this Wednesday night 167,000 doses of the coronavirus vaccine from the Pfizer laboratory, 117,000 of those vaccines under the Covax program and 50,000 acquired through direct negotiation, the government reported .
President Francisco Sagasti said that Peru becomes the second country in Latin America to receive vaccines through Covax.
He added that the delivery full of hope and shows solidarity and international cooperation.

In addition, the Peruvian president affirmed that his country has agreements to receive 48 million doses of vaccines during 2021 and that they continue in negotiations with other providers to "guarantee more doses that allow the entire adult population of our country to be immunized," added Sagasti.
