The son of the British regent, Prince William, today (Thursday) responded for the first time to an interview held by his younger brother, Prince Harry, in which allegations of racism were leveled against one of the members of the royal family.

William, in response to the accusation of Megan Merkel, Prince Harry's wife, that one of the members of the royal family had expressed concern as to the color of her son's skin, that the royal family was not racist.

"I can say we are not a racist family," the prince told reporters.

William has agreed that he has not spoken to his brother since the publication of the interview, but intends to do so.

During the CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry said: "I love William to death. He's my brother and we both went through very difficult things together. But we both chose very different paths."

The Queen of England, Elizabeth II, is expected to address her grandson, Prince Harry, directly in an attempt to straighten things out, following a particularly explosive interview with the prince and his wife on the CBS and Oprah Winfrey news network, the Daily Mail reported today.

According to the report, the Queen intends to call her granddaughter in the coming days, with the aim of ending the crisis between the royal family and the couple and trying to bridge the gaps raised by Harry and Megan in an interview.

According to the British newspaper, the Queen believes that a more "personal approach" to the crisis is needed, after the palace issued an official statement expressing regret over the couple's words.

The British newspaper also reported that due to the rumor mill that the palace workers were spreading on the media, the Queen forbade her employees and household members to make statements, even anonymously, to the media.
