The Utopia Musical Ensemble performed at its concert today on the stage of the Palace of Culture in Homs, accompanied by 21 musicians, singers and conductor Samir Noureddine.
Lovers of Tarab and Rahbaniyyat enjoyed a large share of the songs and pieces "Holidays and Damage to Your Promises, Ranan and I am the one who desires you," composed by Ziad Rahbani, Tarbiyat, Shadia, Abdel Halim Hafez, Umm Kulthum and Farid Al-Atrash, in addition to a variety of songs from Dalida Rahma, Majida Al-Roumi and Marwan Khoury.
The band's leader, Samir Nour El-Din, indicated in a statement to the Cultural Lana that today's concert is the sixth in the group's balance, which includes a group of ambitious young people between the ages of 15 and 30, most of whom are university students whose opinions and visions differ, and they are united by music and they are part of the Utopia team that is affiliated with the Local Community Development Association.
Sarah Ezzi, head of the music committee in the Utopia team, explained that the team and the association, based in Sweida, seek to provide awareness activities that include developmental, behavioral, charitable, sports, and music lectures and community initiatives aimed at developing the human being and contributing to building a creative and tasteful society, where 70 volunteers of talented and educated youth work for these goals, and the Utopia Music Band has emerged from them. Which includes 24 musicians and singers.
In turn, “Maher Al-Aqbani”, the organizer of Utopia's team events, referred to the distinctive artistic taste of the Homs fans and their interest in music, indicating that Utopia was able to create a space in the community in which it provides various services and social, artistic, developmental activities.
