An attempt to calm the winds after canceling Netanyahu's visit to the Emirates and the embarrassment vis-à-vis Jordan.

At a press conference yesterday, Prime Minister Netanyahu noted that "unfortunately my visit was not possible because there was a misunderstanding due to an incident that happened yesterday on the Temple Mount. I can fly over the skies of Jordan, but until this coordination is reached the visit will not be possible."

As you may recall, Netanyahu was scheduled to pay a diplomatic visit to the United Arab Emirates for the first time yesterday, but it was canceled due to the Jordanians' non-approval of the flight path, according to a political source involved in the matter.

According to estimates, the Jordanian refusal, which was discovered only in close proximity to the flight, came in the wake of the cancellation of the Jordanian regent's visit to the Temple Mount yesterday, which stemmed from disagreements over security arrangements.

Israel Today has learned that the prince intended to come to the Temple Mount to pray before the observance of the Hajj in the city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Sources in Amman told Israel Today that following the incident with Jordanian Prince Hussein bin Abdullah al-Hashemi, and the cancellation of his visit to the Temple Mount, the Jordanians did not allow Netanyahu's plane to fly to the United Arab Emirates through the kingdom's airspace.

The canceled prayer and revenge

In addition, senior Jordanian officials claimed that Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid and former Prime Minister Ehud Barak tried to act to "warm up" King Abdullah and thus torpedo Netanyahu's trip. "Netanyahu's visit to the Emirates following the cancellation of Prince Hussein bin Abdullah's visit to the Temple Mount," a senior source in Amman told Israel Today.

In addition, Jordanian officials claimed in a conversation with Israel Today that the Jordanian prince was supposed to meet with Lapid during his visit to the Temple Mount.

Some claim in the prince's entourage that after it became clear to Netanyahu's men that he might meet with Lapid, they hung on to the security guards' excuse to torpedo the prince's visit.

It should be noted that in the meantime the disputes with Jordan have been resolved, but the visit to the Emirates yesterday was canceled due to the tight schedule.

Lapid's office said: "We have no idea what this is about, no such meeting has ever been scheduled" and no response was given on behalf of Ehud Barak.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu revealed yesterday: "I spoke with Sheikh Muhammad bin Zaid and we agreed that another visit will be arranged soon, that we will promote a green passport between the countries, and the third and significant thing - the UAE intends to invest a huge $ 10 billion in various projects in Israel."
