It aims to give young people the tools to be more precise and more confident during their auditions. Ten gendarmes from Rennes have just been trained in this method.

So difficult to hear, so complex to collect, the child's voice is at the heart of the handling of cases of incest or sexual violence against minors.

“In a lot of auditions, the children say nothing or very little, because they are in front of an adult whom they do not know or do not know what is expected of them.

But if the hearing does not allow the characterization of the facts, the cases are closed without follow-up or this leads to dismissal ”

, deplores Laurence Brunet-Jambu.

To avoid this pitfall, this Rennaise, at the head of the child protection association Alexis Danan, has been experimenting for two years in Ille-et-Vilaine with the Calliope program.

This new method from Quebec aims to

"give the tools"

to child victims in order to improve their hearings by gendarmes, police officers and judges.

About fifty children, from 4 years old, and young adults have already followed this program which helps them to free their speech.
