Two men were sentenced Thursday March 11 in front of the Assizes of the Somme to 27 years imprisonment for the homicide of an octogenarian they had burgled before setting fire to her home in July 2018.

The former companion of one of the two men was sentenced to five years' imprisonment, two of which were suspended.
She was being prosecuted for concealment, suspected of having made use of the old lady's bank card and checkbook.
Advocate General Anne-Laure Sandretto, had required 30 years for the two men, aged 30 and 35, and five, two of which were suspended for the woman, 46 years old.
The 84-year-old victim lived alone in the village of Brouchy (Somme).
She was found dead at her burnt down home overnight in July 2018. The autopsy determined that she was dead before the fire, evidence suggesting asphyxiation.
She also had sores on her legs.
The two men, who blamed each other for the crime before and during the hearing, had heavy criminal records.
Marceau R. was sentenced 18 times, mainly for aggravated violence, aggravated theft and extortion, Adrien S. 14 times, mainly for aggravated theft.
