- A great debate has emerged around the German army thanks to the discovery of successive scandals revealing the sympathies of certain officers for far-right positions and the Nazi past, arousing suspicion and a desire for strict control.
It comes as Germany appears to want to take better care of its long-neglected armed forces.
How do you see this somewhat paradoxical situation?

This paradox has been deeply rooted in German society since the end of World War II.
After 1945, the Germans realized that their old 19th century militaristic approaches, which ended up leading to the two world wars of the 20th century, had to be abandoned.
They accepted the idea that they had to devote themselves to the defense of the West in a multilateral framework.
For forty-five years, until the year 1990, the Bundeswehr
