Intellectual, literary, political, historical and critical titles, in addition to international novels, translated books and publications for children included in the Syrian Book Month Fair held by the Directorate of Culture in Tartous.

The exhibition hosted by the Library of the Cultural Center in the city on the occasion of the Syrian Book Day, Kamal Badran, Director of Culture, said in a statement to SANA that it comes within the Ministry’s keenness every year to hold events that celebrate the Syrian book for a whole month through an exhibition that contains various titles from the publications of the Syrian General Authority for Books and discounts Up to 60%, indicating that these publications are carefully selected through specialized committees.

Mona Asaad, head of the cultural center, explained in a similar statement that the exhibition is accompanied by cultural activities, including a book fair for Dar Al Majd next Sunday and storytelling workshops for children, including a workshop entitled “Let's make a generation read” with the participation of a number of writers in addition to a reading day dedicated to young people with the distribution of encouraging gifts to library visitors. Motivate them.

Yasser Ismail, Head of the Publications Sales Center at the Culture Directorate, pointed out that the exhibition contains more than 1,000 titles from children's stories, critical studies and novels, in addition to translated books, and many political, intellectual and literary books and poetry books.

Doctor and teacher at Tartous University, Osama Mihoub, found in the exhibition an important diversity of titles in books, studies and cultural magazines, such as Bridges of Culture magazine and magazines for children, an indication of interest and richness in the cultural product, considering that the presence of young people and children to acquire books is a cultural phenomenon.

As for Samaher Othman, she mentioned that she is keen to visit the exhibition permanently, and her three children get used to reading and acquiring books, especially since the prices during the exhibition encourage the purchase of a larger number due to the big difference from the books of publishing houses and private libraries.

In turn, a student of Arabic language at the Faculty of Arts at Tartous University, Zainab Abbas, found in the exhibition what is suitable for her university studies, which enables her to buy what she wants at a low price. As for Ghadeer Al-Ali, a student of technical engineering at the university, he emphasized that the exhibition includes a wide range of titles and important books, especially literary and new books for a youth book with the acquisition Books that serve his scientific field.
