President Alberto Fernández headed this Friday at the Government House a new meeting of the Vaccination Committee against the coronavirus, in which there were no major announcements.
"What is being seen in the region, in the world, in the northern hemisphere, the impact of the second wave, and the sustained and worrying increase in our countries in the region," warned the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti.
Followed, he indicated that the government is working "on the importance of not only physical distance, those two meters, but also all care strategies."
"Know that there is high risk, medium and low risk care," he completed.
The meeting evaluated the progress of the national immunization plan, which has already reached just over
two million people.
In the conclave that took place in the Hall of Scientists, were Vizzotti, the Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero;
the Minister of Security, Sabina Frederic;
the Interior Ministers, Eduardo de Pedro;
of Defense, Agustín Rossi;
of Social Development, Daniel Arroyo, of Transportation, Mario Meoni;
and from Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens.
Also present were the Legal and Technical Secretary, Vilma Ibarra;
and presidential advisers Cecilia Nicolini and Alejandro Grimson.
The Vaccination Committee against the coronavirus is in charge of carrying out the operation for the
distribution and application throughout the country of vaccines to prevent Covid-19.
According to the latest figures from the public vaccination monitor,
2,098,205 doses have
already been applied throughout the country and
3,418,965 have been distributed among all districts.
As specified in yesterday's session, when 144,636 doses were applied throughout the country, "the rate of vaccination continues the growth curve this week."
"All the provinces are simultaneously vaccinating two or more prioritized groups of the target population defined by the Strategic Vaccination Plan, with a significant degree of progress in health personnel, the elderly in long-stay homes, and people aged 80 and over" , it was reported from the Presidency.
The national government defines at this time the extension of a new stage of Social, Preventive and Obligatory Distancing (Dispo) in the country, and the conditions under which it will be met, although the possibility of a border closure with Brazil was ruled out, despite the appearance in that country of a Covid-19 outbreak due to a new strain of the virus.
