The Special Envoy of the Russian President to the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria Geir Pedersen in a telephone call today, the situation in Syria.
In a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Bogdanov and Pederson "discussed issues related to the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254, with emphasis on the need for joint efforts by the international community aimed at rebuilding Syria and ensuring conditions for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland."
The statement indicated that during the call, a "comprehensive exchange of views took place on the preparation for the sixth session of the committee to discuss the constitution in Geneva."
