Nuremberg - The corona situation in the second largest city in Bavaria is still tense.

The incidence value has been around 100 for days.

To get the pandemic under control, politicians and virologists have been preaching the same thing for weeks.

Only testing and vaccination would offer a sure way out of the crisis.

And so Bavaria’s Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) also visits his home city of Nuremberg * today to see the rapid test concept at a high school.

Together with his CSU colleague and Lord Mayor of Nuremberg, Marcus König, Söder is visiting the Sigena grammar school in the city center today.

He wants to see how the test concept is actually handled in a school.

At the grammar school, corona rapid tests * are regularly carried out on the teachers, the students and also on the staff of the neighboring daycare centers.

So far, only children over the age of 15 should have a regular test.

But as early as next week, younger people can also be tested.

The Minister of Education Michael Piazolo (Free Voters) also announced this on Wednesday during a school visit.

After the flying visit, Söder and König will give a press conference, which you can follow live with us from 11.30 a.m.

Nuremberg: Corona incidence cracks the 100 mark

Whether there will still be face-to-face teaching at Nuremberg's schools and whether this will be extended to lower grades next Monday, as planned, depends very specifically on the incidence value.

This was now several days in a row below the decisive mark of 100. Today it tore the mark again for the first time.

The city reported a 7-day incidence value of 100.3 to the Robert Koch Institute * (RKI).

154 people were newly infected in the past 24 hours.

Four died of or with a Covid-19 infection.

Much depends on the incidence value of 100.

Should it slip over the 100 in Nuremberg * for three days in a row, the city has already announced that it will take measures again.

Among other things, the curfew could then be reintroduced.

A decline in distance teaching would then also be quite conceivable.

The wearing of masks in certain areas of the city center could also be expanded again.

It was not until March 9th that the affected areas were made smaller and the time when the mask requirement applies.
