Geretsried - Even if Bayernliga ice hockey is out of the question at the moment, ESC Geretsried is already planning meticulously in the background for the hoped-for resumption of play in autumn.
The club can already announce a first personell, and this in a key position: Defender Marek Haloda, who came to the River Rats last summer as the successor to Ondrej Stava from his Czech homeland and occupied the second contingent position next to top scorer Ondrej Horvath, has for signed the season 2021/22.

The defender has scored nine points in eight games for the River Rats in the canceled Bayern League season.
The 28-year-old defensive all-rounder, whose brother Ondrej is active as a goalkeeper in Sweden, was trained in the offspring of HC Zlin.
His greatest successes in 2009 were the award as the most dangerous defender in the U 18 league;
In 2010 Haloda won the Czech championship with the U 20 juniors of the traditional club.
Most recently he played for Draci Sumperk and made it to the 2nd league with the “Drachen” in 2020.

The 28-year-old was completely convincing from the start, both on and off the ice, emphasized the second chairman.
“With his friendly, calm manner and experience, he is a very important component in our team.

Even during the very short 2020/21 Bayern League season, the 1.78 meter tall and 75 kilogram heavy Defender showed strong performances from the start.
Haloda did not receive a single penalty time in the eight league games, but recorded nine points scorer (4 goals, 5 assists).
In addition, he impressed with his clever and perfect timing for the passes to the top and stood out with powerful shots from a distance.
In general, the 28-year-old already seems to have settled in Bavaria: During the lockdown, he stayed in Geretsried with his partner and her four-legged friend, where he works for a large local food supplier.
And he doesn't want to let the longer ice hockey break pass by unused, but is also expanding his German language skills on the side.
