Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga plans to visit the United States in April, which would make him the first foreign leader to meet with US President Joe Biden in person, the Japanese government said on Friday.

"If circumstances permit, Prime Minister Suga will visit the United States from the first half of April,"
Japanese government spokesman Katsunobu Kato told reporters, adding that Yoshihide Suga would thus become
"the first foreign leader to meet face to face ”
with Joe Biden.
