PM: "I will visit the Emirates soon" (Photo: GPO)

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safdi sharply attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this evening (Friday), acknowledging for the first time that his country has piled up difficulties in a way that prevented him from visiting the United Arab Emirates during the week.

A day after Amman delayed the approval of Netanyahu's flight path in a way that led to the cancellation of the flight, the minister confirmed in an interview with CNN the assessments that this was due to the conditions set by Israel for the Jordanian regent's visit to the Temple Mount.

"You (Netanyahu) are violating an agreement with Jordan and interfering with the regent's religious visit to the al-Aqsa Mosque," the minister claimed.

"You create conditions that do not allow a visit to take place on a holy day for Muslims, and then you expect to come to Jordan and fly from Jordan? It's not serious."

Yesterday, Netanyahu said that he would straighten things out with Jordan, after postponing his visit to the United Arab Emirates for the fourth time.

"Unfortunately the visit to the Emirates was not possible due to a misunderstanding and difficulties in coordinating our flights resulting from an incident that happened yesterday on the Temple Mount," Netanyahu said during a press conference with Czech and Hungarian prime ministers Andrei Babish and Victor Urban.

"We have aligned things with Jordan. We can fly, I can fly over the skies of Jordan and until this coordination is achieved, the visit was not possible."

Netanyahu added that he spoke with Regent Muhammad Ben-Zayed about arranging a new meeting between them.

"I have now talked to the discourse Muhammad bin Zayd and we have agreed on three things: one, that we will have another visit very soon. Second, we will promote the green passport between Israel and the Emirates. Third, and this is very important news for Israeli citizens, the UAE intends to invest in various means "Israel has a huge sum of $ 10 billion, that's almost NIS 40 billion in various projects."
