US Border Patrol agents detained more than 300 undocumented migrants since Tuesday in several Texas border areas with Mexico, reported the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP, for its acronym in English).
The agency reported in a statement Thursday that it continues to find "families and unaccompanied minors" who enter the United States illegally in groups of more than 100 people.
The last of these groups was detected this Thursday in Rome, Texas, where authorities detained 137 undocumented people.
"The group consisted of Central American families and four adults," CBP said in the statement.

Between Tuesday and Wednesday, two other groups were detected, one of 102 people in La Joya, Texas, and another of 100 people in La Grulla, also in Texas.
CBP called on people who are thinking or trying to make this journey not to risk their lives to enter the United States illegally.

"In recent days, the Border Patrol has made multiple rescues of people who were left adrift by smugglers," the agency said.
