The Syrian Arab Army units carried out a wide sweeping campaign to dismantle IEDs and mines from the remnants of terrorists in large areas in Salamiyah countryside and the Badia areas in the northeastern sector of Hama governorate, which killed many civilians during their movement in the area.

A field source revealed to SANA's correspondent that "units of the army carried out combing operations from the town of Al-Rahjan and the Wadi Al-Atheeb region towards the depth of the desert, and the engineering units were able to remove a large number of IEDs."

The source indicated that combing operations are being carried out with the support of the fire support media and infantry units in the Syrian Arab Army to eliminate the remnants of ISIS terrorist cells in the Badia.

Last Sunday, 18 civilians were killed and 3 others were wounded in the explosion of two mines left over from terrorist groups in the vicinity of Wadi Al-Atheeb in the countryside of Salamiyah in the eastern Hama countryside, where the terrorist organizations, before their retreat from the area, planted mines and explosive devices in agricultural lands.
