The parish council of St. Joseph designed a station path during Lent that grows around the parish church every week.
"We want to encourage people to look, to perceive problem areas - because that is certainly part of Lent", says Rita Niedermaier from the parish council and adds: "To broaden the view beyond one's own nose."
In keeping with International Women's Day, the women's association prepared the prayer on Tuesday evening on the station path. A wire female figure was used to commemorate all the women who have not been seen, disregarded or suppressed over the millennia, reports Niedermaier, who is also involved with the Women's Association. She cites the refusal of the official church to admit women to ordination offices as examples. Many women, especially single parents, are not able to feed their families adequately and to provide for their old age due to their low earnings.
