The historical patron of Editions Grasset for thirty years, a figure of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, died at the age of 90.


Jean-Claude Fasquelle, legendary figure of the French edition, has died at the age of 90, the Grasset editions announced on Saturday, which he led for years.

Editions Grasset & Fasquelle are very sad to announce the death of Jean-Claude Fasquelle, former CEO of the house from 1981 to 2000,

 " they said on Twitter.



Jean-Claude Fasquelle, grandson of the publisher of Zola, had been CEO of Editions Fasquelle before the merger in 1967 with Editions Grasset.

He became Managing Director before taking the helm in 1981 until 2000, when he left his place to Olivier Nora.
