The Homs Police Sports Club seeks to develop the reality of the sports it continuously practices to maintain the level of its players and prepare new generations to serve the Syrian sport.
The club's director, Abd al-Hadi Bhasik, said in a statement to the SANA sports newsletter: “Since the club was established in 1990 in Homs, it has been working on setting annual plans to develop administrative and organizational work and sports performance. Sports sector ”.
Bahsik added that there are many games practiced in the club, most notably karate, boxing, taekwondo, judo, wrestling and martial arts such as muay thai, kung fu, kickboxing, throwing power, Kyokushinkai, Taekwangsto, weightlifting, physical strength and body building, in addition to swimming, badminton and chess, and it currently has 460 players in all games for all categories. Bahsik added that the club has participations in the Homs team in the Republic championships and within the ranks of the police team as well. It also conducts training camps continuously during the year to prepare its players to participate in official tournaments, and usually participates in friendly tournaments that are held between clubs and governorates to develop the players ’performance and build their physical capabilities.
Bahsik indicated that the club has achieved good results since the beginning of this year in the Republic Championships, in the Muay Thai championship it scored two golds, four silvers and two bronzes, in kickboxing it scored two golds and a bronze, and in karate two bronze, in addition to a silver and a bronze in weightlifting.
The club manager concluded his speech that there are several difficulties facing the club’s career, the most important of which is the inability to secure sports equipment for some games due to their scarcity and high prices.
