Iranian parliament spokesman Muhammad Bakr Kalibaf today (Saturday) attacked the government policy of President Hassan Rouhani, hinting at the country's difficult situation, in which citizens are forced to stand in line for hours in order to receive subsidized chicken legs from the state.

Kalibaf made the remarks during a speech he delivered in the second largest city in Iran, Mashhad, to mark the holy months of Shiite Islam.

"I met here in Mashhad a citizen who called me to come and see the queue for chicken distribution. People can not afford to buy chicken because its price has skyrocketed. This is a situation we must not accept," he said.

Calibaf, who is affiliated with the conservative current, hinted at President Rouhani's government, saying: "This is the kind of conduct we see in our economy today. Instead of using the powers and talents of our youth, they prefer to plead with our enemies and pray for salvation. And an action based on faith. "

Calibaf referred to US sanctions on Iran's economy, and allegations of a growing willingness of regime officials to enter into negotiations with the United States on its return to the nuclear deal, in exchange for the lifting of sanctions on Iran's economy.
