The former president of the Nation, Mauricio Macri is preparing for the

formal presentation of his book "Primer Tiempo"

that generated expectation and excitement in equal parts from the moment its pre-sale was announced through Mercado Libre, an action that was rejected by some booksellers who decided not to include the title among their offers.

On Wednesday, the leader published a fragment of the cover on his Instagram account, with a single caption:

"Thursday, March 18, 18:00

.

"

This is the day and time when he will present it in society to a select group of guests

at the Exhibition Center of the City of Buenos Aires,

on Figueroa Alcorta and Pueyrredón avenues.

They also anticipated that the event

will be broadcast live on the former president's social networks

.

For this event, Macri plans to bring together his former officials.

On the guest list is the leadership of Together for Change.

As anticipated from the environment of the former president, the head of the PRO and former Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich;

the head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta;

the head of the UCR, Alfredo Cornejo, the former governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Maria Eugenia Vidal;

who was his running mate in 2019, Miguel Ángel Pichetto, ARI Civic Coalition President, Maxi Ferraro, among others.

Deputies and senators from the coalition, former ministers and secretaries who were part of the macrista administration until 2019 will also attend. The presentation of the book also generated expectations within the opposition about the possible guests.

Although there is no official list, there are several who are still waiting for a signal to approach the center of Figueroa Alcorta avenue.

Everything indicates that the great absentee from the event will be Elisa "Lilita" Carrió, who along with Macri and Ernesto Sanz was one of the architects of Cambiemos in 2015, who hardly leaves her house in Exaltación de la Cruz due to the pandemic.

There will also be personal guests, outside of politics, from Macri himself, such as friends and family, among others.

The amount will be determined by the coronavirus protocol.

"First time" has its presale by Mercado Libre, the price is $ 1,690 and the copies are delivered 8 days after payment.

In bookstores, "Primer Tiempo" will be sold from March 17th.

It was written with the collaboration of the former Secretary of Culture, Pablo Avelluto and the former Undersecretary of Strategic Communication of the Chief of Cabinet, Hernán Iglesias Illia.

The former president assured that the publication is, mainly, "a way to continue the dialogue with each of the Argentines who are not resigned to living in a society without a future for their children."

Thank you all for the impressive reception yesterday of "Primer Tiempo".

"The first half is over but the game continues. And winning it depends on everyone," he

closes.

There are 304 pages that begin from back to front, with an account of his last moments as president, on the night of December 9, 2019.

Controversy with some bookstores and Kirchnerism

Macri's book arrives wrapped in controversy and not precisely because of what he wrote, which is still a mystery since the publisher handled them with absolute secrecy, although it is not ruled out that in the hours before the event, as the rule indicates, spread some pages.

The conflict was generated as a result of the reaction of Kirchnerism around Macri's work.

There were several bookstores that announced that they will not sell the title.

Sudestada, located in the downtown area, was the first and most emphatic.

“At Librería Sudestada we choose what to sell and what not to sell.

For 20 years we have chosen the path of self-management, we are from the school of Osvaldo Bayer, Fabián Polosecki, the Mothers and Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo ", they pointed out in their networks

The Sudestada bookstore affirmed that it will not sell Mauricio Macri's book.

"Politics is not a game of first and second stages, it is to improve the living conditions of people who in our country under the Macri government reached 50 percent poverty," they said in another message in which they showed the cover of Macri's book with a digital tomatazo as a sign of repudiation.

As they explained, even without having read more than the cover and back of the book, for them this sort of memory of the former president's management "has nothing to contribute."

"We are not going to spread their messages of lies and pro pose. We have nothing to do with them, don't count on us. Look for the book elsewhere, here we have many others to think about and debate ideas. And may the eunuchs continue to snort" they said.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Santiago Cafiero, appealed to irony when asked if the government was concerned about the former president's book.

"It must already be to download ... in the lazy corner," he chuckled, referring to a popular monograph download site.

Mercado Libre also became an area of symbolic dispute around the book that has not yet come out.

This is because different users of the digital buying and selling site joined forces to fill the pre-sale page with comments, to the point of turning that space for questions about the product into a forum for commentators who fight about the figure of Macri himself and his government.
