Netanyahu: I will appoint Mossad chief Yossi Cohen to a position in my next government
The prime minister said in News 13 that he would include Cohen, who is due to end his tenure as head of the Mossad in June: "I will know how to use his skills." This is despite the cooling-off law preventing him from running for Knesset and appointing a minister for three years. His wife: "Unequivocally - this is a complete lie"

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said tonight (Saturday) that he intends to appoint the head of the Mossad, Yossi Cohen, to a position in his next government.
Cohen is due to end his tenure as head of the Mossad in June, and is considered very close to Netanyahu, who said in an interview with News 13 that after his retirement, "in the Shakim government, I will make sure to include him in the position. I will know how to use his skills."
The cooling-off law prevents the head of the Mossad and other senior members of the defense establishment from running for the Knesset and being appointed minister for three years from the date of their termination.
In the past, Cohen's name has been mentioned as a candidate for ambassador to the United States or as Netanyahu's special envoy for political issues.
In addition, Netanyahu denied that his wife was involved in Cohen's appointment as head of the National Security Council, referring to a publication in News 13 according to which he was appointed head of the National Security Council in 2013 through businessman Arnon Milchen and only after promising personal loyalty to Netanyahu and his wife.
He said, "I chose Yossi Cohen because he does an outstanding job, and my choice is constantly adjusted. The right choice and Arnon Milchen or my wife were not part of it."
