A private on-call bus in Holzkirchen is on the brink.

Now the requirements of the market community are to be integrated as well as possible into the improved call-collective-taxi (AST).

Holzkirchen

- The waves seem to have smoothed out a bit: The conversation went well, says Holzkirchen's mayor Christoph Schmid (CSU).

"We agree that we want to improve public transport." And a spokeswoman from the district office explains: "The challenge for everyone involved is to bring the systems together."

This is the result of a video conference between the municipality and the district administration.

It was about the Holzkirchen local bus, which recently caused a stir in the district development committee.

The market town wants to improve its local bus.

For this she would like two building blocks.

The first is a reduction to one line.

This is to run from the Holzkirchen train station via the industrial area east and the B 318 to the industrial area north.

The second component is to be an on-call bus, which will serve the remaining districts, flexibly and on request.

The latter made waves in the district development committee.

District councilors and Peter Schiffmann, head of the traffic department at the district office, had expressed concerns.

With regard to the call-sharing taxi (AST), which is to be improved, they feared a double structure.

Schmid reacted irritated.

Finally, representatives of the district office were present at meetings on the subject.

In a subsequent video conference, both sides came into contact again.

According to Schmid, he and the location promoter Eva-Maria Schmitz took part in the conversation.

Schiffmann, Mobility Manager Mona Dürrschmidt and Georg Kleeberg, responsible for local public transport, were connected from the District Office.

Schmid admits that there had been misunderstandings in the past.

"We also want an MVV connection"

Schmid welcomes the fact that the AST system is being upgraded.

He too would like to avoid that a new Holzkirchen system cannot be integrated into any other.

“We also want an MVV connection.” So it is not the case that Holzkirchen is “doing its own thing”.

On top of that, the district must make the tender.

His conclusion: "We try to implement our parameters," emphasizes Schmid.

The name under which this happens - AST or Holzi-Bus - is of secondary importance.

"What matters is the offer."

A spokeswoman for the district office confirmed that representatives of the district office were involved in the deliberations on the Holzkirchen local bus.

On the part of the district office, it was always clearly communicated that “they are striving for a common system,” she emphasizes.

Holzkirchen also wants to examine which parameters for on-demand traffic would be particularly desirable for Holzkirchen.

The district wants a common solution.

According to the spokeswoman, two systems that exist in parallel are viewed critically by the district administration and politicians.

Because a district-wide system, which would also have to include wooden churches, as well as a second Holzkirchen system would cause confusion and run the risk that the profitability of both would suffer.

"If necessary, the funding agency could also evaluate something like this critically."

From the shared taxi to the on-call bus in rapid transit

The aim is to establish a common system for the district from 2022 to 2024.

“The ideas of the market should be taken into account as far as possible.” Everything should also be MVV-compatible for the period from 2024 onwards.

The fact that the development of a completely new system for the entire district from 2022 onwards “was clear from the beginning of February and has now led to the decision to further develop the existing AST”, said the spokeswoman.

In this respect, the district would trace the development from Fürstenfeldbruck from a shared taxi to an on-call bus in a fast run.

According to Schmid, they stayed in such a way that the municipality sends the district office all the results of the workshop that took place with door2door GmbH.

As is well known, the office had been commissioned to create an operating concept for the community's on-call bus.

The district will then try to take into account the requirements of the market in the tender for the Holzkirchen island, the spokeswoman said.

In Holzkirchen, the topic should reappear in the local council or transport committee.

FWG wants to test more models

The FWG parliamentary group has submitted an application for the Holzkirchen local bus.

In it, it demands that the demand-oriented transport offers (on-demand systems) available on the market are comprehensively examined and compared with a suitable office, also with regard to possible hybrid solutions.

Reason: "The future local bus should and must be an important component in improving the traffic problems in Holzkirchen." And: "Our decision today will set the course for a few years."

The FWG welcomes the fact that the municipal council has worked with the door2door office on details of on-demand concepts such as “Omobi” in Murnau or the app-based “Isar Tiger”.

Both solutions were based on door2door's digital platform, according to parliamentary group spokesman Torsten Hensel.

In addition, the FWG would like to see models with a demand line operation to see if they can be implemented in Holzkirchen.

Experts should do this as part of a feasibility study.
