The municipality of Ottobrunn has to use its reserves to finance the budget for 2021.

- It sounds alarming at first: Ottobrunn has to pass on almost three million euros from the asset to the administrative budget.

The reserves are melting away.

But chamberlain Oliver Malina gives the all-clear.

It is an absolutely exceptional case.

The budget in Ottobrunn is 72.4 million euros.

It is thus slightly higher than in the previous year.

According to the plan, 56.8 million euros will be used in the administrative budget and 15.6 million euros in the property budget.

The municipal council unanimously passed the budget for 2012 and without a presentation due to Corona.

Chamberlain Malina has made the professional maxim to see things as positive as possible, as he explains to the Münchner Merkur.

He manifests his attitude with the words: "Although this year, for the first time, money has to flow from the property budget to the administrative budget, but it takes a pandemic for us to get into such a situation at all."

That is at least 1.7 million euros more than in the previous year.

The community was not categorically in financial difficulties.

However, it recorded cost increases in the need for grants in the pandemic.

This affects various areas such as the Sportpark GmbH with the Phönix-Bad.

Here the community has to shoulder an additional 1.8 million euros.

Normal costs would be 1.5 million euros, this year it's a total of 3.3 million euros.

More than twice as much.

The daycare grants according to the BayKiBiG amount to around one million euros and, according to him, have a certain dynamic anyway.

The effect of Corona can therefore be quantified less precisely.

It may sound surprising that the Wolf-Ferrari House's need for subsidies will be somewhat cheaper than in normal years.

That is because every ticket is subsidized.

Malina: "As a rule, you don't make any financial profit at the events as a community." There is a lack of income, but also the associated costs.

Ottobrunn is very lucky not to be dependent on a large trade tax payer, but is broadly positioned with many companies.

Nevertheless, Corona has a paralyzing effect, and the municipality has not gone very high in its business tax estimate.

Nevertheless, one is optimistic.

Because last year, despite the pandemic, they stayed above the budget of twelve million euros and earned 13.5 million euros.

The chamberlain took this figure as a model for this year and calculated it to be 13 million euros.

The effect of the corona pandemic is that the advance payments have all been reduced.

Chamberlain Malina: “Personally, I assume that we can still expect additional payments this year.

For some companies, the financial statements are not as bad as they initially assumed. ”So you have to plan and juggle the household figures a little more foresight than usual.

Doris Popp (Greens) would like a little more investment in CO2-saving projects.

There is a lack of staff to take on the renewal of street lighting, to accompany the building renovations ecologically, to take care of the improvement of the mobility infrastructure "and above all staff to bring climate protection much more into the public consciousness".

Your parliamentary group approved the budget, but called for much more attention to be paid to issues that serve climate protection in the community.
