Saved lives: Cyclist Roy Sadan's organs were transplanted into three critically ill patients
With the consent of his family members, two livers, a kidney and a pancreas from Sadan's body were donated to two men in their 50s and a 35-year-old woman. The transplant operation at Ichilov Hospital was conducted for 24 hours with the participation of 50 staff members.

The organs of cyclist Roy "Ginger" Sadan were transplanted over the weekend in three critically ill patients.

The transplant operation was led by Dr. Nir Lubetzky, director of the Department of Liver, Bile and Pancreatic Surgery, and was attended by physicians from the surgery, anesthesia, intensive care and liver systems, along with nursing and transplant coordination teams. "Six anesthetists and intensive care physicians worked around the clock during the Sabbath to perform the huge transplant operation that ended successfully."
