Reopen then close

The Louvre museum has been closed since the end of October, like other museums, theaters and cinemas.

A situation considered untenable by cultural professionals, especially since certain studies show the limited risk that museums represent in terms of contamination.

On this point, Jean-Luc Martinez specifies:

“The difficulty for a museum in the city center like Paris is not inside the museum.

This is to prevent access to the museum from contributing to a mixing of populations and arrival in public transport.

So we work at staggered hours, so that the public who will come to the museum, do not meet those who are in transport to go to work.

Obviously borrowing from a certain optimism, the director of the museum, an archaeologist by profession, citing the British and Italian examples, also considered the possibility of reopening and then closing the museums in the event of an epidemic relapse.

Anyway,

“we will have to open up and go out to win back the public.

The Minister has already said that the museums will be the first to reopen, because we are circulating public establishments, we can walk there.

 »And to hope,

« in the coming weeks »to be

able, once again, to welcome the public
