Today (Monday) will be the first conference of its kind, which will deal with agricultural crime in the Negev and the Galilee, and by the way in what is known as the "Challenge of Governance" in these and other areas.

The event takes place under the leadership of "Israel Today", the "Hashomer Hahadash" organization and the Farmers' Association on the subject of the fight against crime in Israel.

The conference, which will be broadcast virtually, will host ministers, Knesset members, council heads and social activists.

The Minister of Internal Security, Amir Ohana, revealed to "Israel Today" yesterday that he intends to announce a plan to allocate Border Police units to the fight against agricultural crime.

This is one of the responses to what has already been defined as a "coup d'etat," and part of a basket of actions it intends to implement.

The decision comes after in 2017 the previous commissioner, RNC Roni Alsich, confiscated responsibility for this issue from the Border Police, and subordinated it to the local police stations. Since the change.

"I have been accompanying the fight against agricultural terrorism and crime in the rural area for many years as a Member of Knesset," says Minister Ohana.

He said, "Families have been destroyed and much suffering has been caused as a result of this crime, and this move will bring a great deal of news in the field."

Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit is also expected to review at a conference changes made by the prosecution system to deal with the phenomenon.

In a preliminary conversation with Israel Today, Mandelblit clarifies that he intends to present the activities of a "super team for dealing with serious crime" established in the Ministry of Justice.

The ministry, he said, is currently promoting a change in the perception of enforcement that includes "proactive enforcement," designed to harm the economic institutions of those who are defined as perpetrators of crime.

Also, legally integrated enforcement is planned, which employs a combination of tools from different legal areas, such as traffic and taxes, designed to enable more effective tools for dealing with organized crime.
