Atef, who owns about 100 heads of sheep and goats, indicated that he used to get his allowances of bran and fodder barley periodically through the fodder cycles that were opened throughout the year, which provided these materials at subsidized prices and were much cheaper than what was sold in the market based on government support. As for the breeder Awad Al-Ali from the countryside of Tal Barak district, he explained that with the fodder distribution centers ceasing to operate as a result of the militia’s takeover, the reality of livestock breeding will continue to decline because of the inability of breeders to purchase feed materials from the market, whose prices have risen greatly due to the lack of pastures and the exploitation of some traders, the breeders ’need for this Materials.

While the breeder Khader Al-Abdullah from the countryside of Qamishli indicated that many breeders are compelled to sell part of his holdings of livestock to secure the financial resource to buy fodder from the markets as a result of the practices of “Qasd” and the fodder stolen and in the event that the breeders continue to need the feed material, they will have to continue selling their holdings to remain the sole beneficiary From the current situation it is the "Qasd militia" and the merchants who deal with it, who took advantage of the increased supply of livestock in the market to buy them at a low price, smuggle them and sell them to neighboring countries at high prices and deprive local breeders of them.

For his part, the director of the Forage Foundation Branch, Brchink Khidr indicated that the reality of livestock breeding in the governorate was negatively affected by the militia’s takeover of the fodder distribution centers in the cities and regions of Al-Hasakah, Qamishli, Amouda and Al-Qahtaniyah, which used to provide breeders with the subsidized feed material periodically and through the successive fodder cycles that were opened on Throughout the year.

Khader pointed out that the militia’s takeover of these centers deprived the breeders of an estimated amount of fodder estimated at 13,503 tons of bran and 1,800 tons of fodder barley, which were designated for distribution to the breeders within the current fodder cycle.
