How does the Erdinger CSU member of the Bundestag Andreas Lenz view the mask Raffkes?
We asked him.
Erding - The revelations come at the worst possible time for the CDU and CSU.
A good six months before the federal election, it became known that at least two members of the Bundestag of the Union enriched themselves a year ago when ordering protective masks in the first wave of pandemics - and only because they had let their contacts play.
It's about six-figure amounts.
Georg Nüßlein (CSU) and Nikolas Löbel (CDU) have left the Union parliamentary group, Löbel has left the Bundestag, Nüßlein does not want to leave until the fall - because of his salaries and retirement benefits.
We talked to the Erdinger MdB Andreas Lenz (CSU) about the "mask-Raffkes".
Mr. Lenz, if you came across the “mask-Raffkes” Georg Nüßlein and Nikolas Löbel in the Bundestag.
What would you call out to you?
Good question.
I don't know if I have much to say to you.
But on the principle that they caused great damage, that a lot of confidence in politics was destroyed.
And maybe also whether it was really worth it to them - given the damage that was done.
How can such processes be prevented - but with a strict transparency register?
I am not against a strict transparency register.
This means that it is documented who talks to MPs about what and when.
But at the same time, such a register would probably not have prevented the cases under discussion.
I advocate additional rules of conduct that also address the question of secondary employment.
But what is even more important is that every individual needs a feeling for what you are doing and what you are not doing.
Regardless of whether this is legally and formally possible or not.
Does a member of the Bundestag really have to work on the side?
There are also self-employed people in Parliament.
From my point of view, it is right that they can continue their operations - also to reflect the breadth of society.
Otherwise, the job in the Bundestag is quite fulfilling, it will definitely not be boring even without a part-time job.
And nobody has to starve to death on the MP's diet.
Do you receive additional income yourself?
Apart from the attendance fees for the Ebersberg district council, I have no additional income.
I always deliberately refused such offers.
