Mainz - March 14th is the first major election date in 2021. The state parliament will also be re-elected in Rhineland-Palatinate.

When will the result of the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate be counted?

In the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2021, the polling stations will close on March 14 at 6 p.m.

Anyone who appears in the voting room by then can still cast their vote.

When the last ballot papers are then in the ballot box, the counting may begin.

What is the process from the projections to the election result?

The second vote decides whether Malu Dreyer (SPD) can put a government back on its feet or whether Christian Baldauf (CDU) takes over government affairs.

When will the official final result of the RLP state election 2021 be determined?

On the day after the state election, the district election officers are informed of the local counts with the election records.

The election results in the constituency should then be determined as quickly as possible and transmitted to the regional returning officer.

Then it is the turn of the state election committee to confirm the results for the whole of Rhineland-Palatinate and to notify the elected members of the state parliament.

It can therefore take several days before the official final result is available.
